Uganda Team Update – Friday, April 21st

Today we went to Lake Nakuru game park looking for wild animals. We saw rhinos, water buffalo, franklin gazelles, a giraffe and lots of zebras. The rain came and we had to get out of the park before the roads got too bad.
We then headed for Pastor Chris’ church for a crusade. He introduced Pastor Bob who delivered a message of hope in Christ. Then Pastor Wilber spoke. Pastor Chris stood and told everyone how much Tom has helped his church by purchasing a sound system and other things the church would never have been able to purchase. He then prayed a beautiful prayer asking for God’s healing hand to be upon Tom. Afterward he told me how much he loved Tom and that he would fast and pray on May 3rd when Tom has his surgery.
We were a weary group when we checked into our hotel this evening. Tomorrow we will be off to Uganda!

Uganda Team – Wednesday, April 19th through Thursday, April 20th

We met some of the group in Phoenix. Tom and Little Sophie were there to see us off. It was so emotional for the team as well as Tom to leave without him. This was the first mission trip he has ever had to stay behind. Tom will be extremely missed. The people love him so much and he brings a lot of fun into all that we do-even the not-so-fun stuff. Children and adults flock to him. He makes them laugh and feel special.
In Amsterdam we met up with some more team members and were united with Pat and Diane in Nairobi. After many hours on travel the bed in Nairobi felt pretty good!

Uganda Team Update – April 24, 2006

From the Eggum’s –
The team leaders have been in touch a few times to let us know they have had a great trip so far! They have not been able to email and keep you updated because they are now in the village and the electricity has been sporadic. They are putting in full days and when someone takes the time to send an update, the Internet is down!
They enjoyed their safari and arrived safely in the village. They had a huge meeting with 65 area leaders over lunch yesterday. They experienced a wonderful worship service on Sunday and since have been greeted with warm welcomes by the friends the veteran team members have known and the new ones they are making!
